East Grand Rapids Public Schools will participate in Schools of Choice in both the Kent Intermediate School District Collaborative Program and the State of Michigan Schools of Choice Section 105c for the 2017-2018 academic year.

On March 13, 2017, the East Grand Rapids Board of Education voted to accept 20 students into the 2017-2018 Kent ISD Collaborative Schools of Choice Program, and one (1) additional opening in State of Michigan Section 105c - Contiguous Intermediate School District Schools of Choice Program. The 2017-2018 openings, per program, are:

Kent ISD Collaborative Schools of Choice Program ~ All students who are residents of Kent Intermediate School Districts are eligible to apply for enrollment in any Kent ISD Public School that has an available opening at the grade level the student will be entering.

State of MI Section 105C Schools of Choice Program ~ Students who reside in a school district that is in a different ISD, but that borders Kent ISD, may apply under the Schools of Choice 105c plan, depending on available openings.

Students who have been suspended or expelled may be excluded from both programs.

Students may apply for Schools of Choice through both the Kent County Schools of Choice Plan and the Section 105C Plan between April 10 – May 12, 2017 at 4:00 PM.
