2010-2011

Applications
Applications will be available at the East Grand Rapids Public Schools District Office, located at 2915 Hall Street SE, beginning Monday, April 12, 2010. The application deadline is 4:00PM, Friday, June 4, 2010. If we receive more applications than the number of positions available within a grade level, we are required to conduct a random draw. We will maintain a wait list until Friday, July 9, 2010, in accordance with the Kent ISD Collaborative Schools of Choice Plan.

Eligibility
All students who are residents of Kent Intermediate School District are eligible to apply for School of Choice enrollment in any Kent ISD school district that has openings at the grade level the student will be entering. Students who have been suspended in the last two years or expelled may be excluded.

Transportation
Transportation is the responsibility of the student's family.

Placement in an Elementary Building
Placement in a particular building will be made in August prior to the start of the school year and will be based on class size and availability.

Parent Notification
Parents will be notified by Friday, June 18, 2010, if their child has been accepted for enrollment in East Grand Rapids Public Schools through the Kent ISD Schools of Choice Program. Parents must accept or decline the School of Choice enrollment by Friday, July 2, 2010.

Grade Level Openings for Fall of 2010
On March 22, 2010, the Board of Education approved sixteen (16) Schools of Choice openings for
2010-2011. There are nine (9) openings at third grade, and seven (7) openings at fourth grade.
No other grade level openings are available through the Schools of Choice program for 2010-2011.
