Academic Boosters

The
MISSION of the EGR Academic Boosters is to Encourage and Support the Academic Achievements of ALL Students.

The EGR Academic Boosters was founded in 1986 to support the academic performance of every student. Today the EGR Academic Boosters is a 501(c)(3) parent-led organization that fosters vital communication between the school and its families and gives academic improvement opportunities to East Grand Rapids students that go beyond the classroom. Proceeds from membership dues, the Progressive Dinner, and the Winter Whirl Dance allow the Academic Boosters to support direct assistance to students in these ways:
  • Teacher-led exam prep sessions each semester
  • Preparation for standardized tests, ACT, MME, and SAT
  • Academic competitions and extra-curricular groups
  • Recognition of academic improvement and excellence
  • Summer school credit recovery classes
Join us monthly, participate in our membership meetings. Share your input and glean valuable academic information for your student’s success at East Grand Rapids High School.

In addition to supporting students, Academic Boosters performs a vital role in educating parents on how to navigate the high school system to achieve every student's needs. The Boosters hold monthly meeting for parents. In collaboration with the administration, faculty, local professionals and parents, valuable information is shared about college application processes, effective parenting through social and academic challenges, new teaching methods and curriculum changes, academic extracurricular activities, and the multiple opportunities available to achieve each student’s academic goals. Guest speakers include school counselors, school board members, legislative participants as well as East Grand Rapids Public Schools faculty and staff.

Proceeds from EGR Academic Booster events go toward: Parent-organized, Teacher-led Final Exam Study Sessions, Academic Extra-curricular Activities, Academic Recognition and Reward for Students and Summer School Credit Recovery Classes.

Please join our Monthly Meetings and be a part of Successful Academic Achievement.
