Resident Enrollment Procedures
These enrollment procedures cover students in K-12; however, Kindergarten and Preschool/Child Care have additional enrollment requirements. If you're interested in enrolling your child in Kindergarten or in Preschool/Child Care, please consult the additional information at the bottom of this page.
When enrolling a student into any Michigan public school district, the State School Aid Act, related Michigan Compiled Laws, and other state and federal requirements apply. Each district is responsible for verifying three things:
1. Parentage
2. A qualifying residence
3. Residency in the qualifying residence
