East Grand Rapids Public Schools will participate in Schools of Choice in the Kent Intermediate Superintendents’ Association (KISA) Collaborative Schools of Choice Program for the 2026-2027 academic year.
SchoolS of Choice Application
Applications will open on April 13, 2026, and close on May 15, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. sharp.
Please visit www.kentisd.org for additional information regarding School of Choice for all 20 public schools in the Kent Intermediate School District.
If your student is entering the 6th through 12th* grade, please go to the EGRPS Non-Resident (Section 6) Enrollment Program webpage for information on the non-resident enrollment process.
*11th and 12th on a case-by-case basis
Eligibility
KISA Collaborative Schools of Choice Program ~ All students who are residents of Kent Intermediate School Districts are eligible to apply for enrollment in any Kent ISD Public School that has an available opening at the grade level the student will be entering. Students who have been suspended or expelled may be excluded from the program. For all applicants other than kindergarten, a discipline report listing no or any discipline incidences from the student's current schools' Student Information System is required to accompany your application.
Deadlines for the 2026-2027 Schools of Choice Program
- Applications accepted April 13 through May 15, 2026. Applications due to district of choice by 4:00 p.m.
- Parents notified by May 29, 2026, if student is accepted.
- Parents must confirm decision to attend by June 5, 2026.
- Waitlist families notified of any openings and must confirm decision on intent-to-enroll by June 19, 2026.
Transportation
- Transportation is the responsibility of the student's family.
