HIGH SCHOOL SPANISH TEACHER
LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited college or university
- Eligibility to obtain a Daily Substitute Permit from the Michigan Department of Education (required)
- Fluency in Spanish (required)
- State of Michigan Teaching Certificate (preferred)
- Spanish (FF) endorsement (preferred)
- Ability to work in a team planning structure
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in the Spanish language
- Ability to be enthusiastic, flexible, work cooperatively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators
- Ability to motivate and inspire students
- Willingness and commitment to include equity, social justice, and inclusion in all practices
- Ability to transform instruction through the creative use of technology
- Knowledge of instructional practices for varied learning styles and individual student needs
- Excellent organization and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening skills)
- Experience teaching high school students
- Successful classroom management strategies and skills
- Ability to abide by all district policies and procedures
- Experience in utilizing a variety of assessments to inform teaching
- Ability to develop and implement positive behavior support plans
- Strong background in using assessment and data to inform instruction and document student progress
Location: East Grand Rapids High School
Rate: EGRPS Long-Term Substitute Teacher Rate per Edustaff
Start Date: September 12, 2024 or As mutually agreed
