High School Vocal Director for Musical - Schedule B

HIGH SCHOOL VOCAL DIRECTOR FOR MUSICAL
EXTRA DUTY ASSIGNMENT (SCHEDULE B)

Qualifications:

• Ability to teach, delegate, motivate, encourage, and mentor high school students
• Experience working in theatre and an understanding of the creative and technical aspects of theatre
• Ability to support the musical director in conducting auditions and casting actors/singers/dancers
• Ability to collaborate with musical director, instrumental staff, choreographer, and technical director
• Ability to lead all vocal rehearsals and assist cast with learning the music
• Willingness to attend additional rehearsals as the music director and vocal conductor
• Willingness to attend production meetings, as needed, and all performances
• Ability to assist in selecting, with the director and orchestra director, a rehearsal accompanist
• Willingness and ability to collaborate on creative decisions regarding the production, including sound and microphone needs
• Ability to work after school, evenings, and weekends for rehearsals and performances
• Willingness and commitment to include equity, social justice, and inclusion in all practices
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Willingness to be enthusiastic, flexible, and able to work cooperatively with students, parents, teachers and administrators

Location: East Grand Rapids High School
Rate: 4% of Step 1 BA for Musical
Start Date: Winter 2024/2025
