SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

(0.6 FTE)

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Speech/Language Pathology
  • State of Michigan requirements as a Speech and Language Pathologist
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (preferred)
  • Experience providing diagnostic, consultative, and direct speech and language services to students in both individual and small group settings; establishing goals based on assessments, data, and student needs; and documenting student progress on goals and objectives
  • Experience and knowledge of language, articulation development, fluency, and voice intervention/remediation strategies
  • Ability to be enthusiastic, flexible, and work cooperatively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening skills)
  • Experience and knowledge in the area of assistive technology and using augmentative and alternative communication devices with students
  • Willingness and commitment to include equity, social justice, and inclusion in all practices
  • Ability to function as speech and language consultant for special and general education teachers regarding the integration of language instruction into the curriculum
  • Familiarity with Michigan Speech-Language Hearing Association and Kent Intermediate School District speech and language guidelines
  • Ability to use technology proficiently with electronic IEP systems, Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and iPad apps
  • Knowledge of Multi-Tiered System of Supports
  • Ability to relate positively and work cooperatively with students, school staff, and parents
  • Training in CPI or willingness to be trained in and utilize CPI techniques

Compensation: Per EGREA Contract Salary Schedule

Location: East Grand Rapids Public Schools

Start Date: As mutually agreed upon
