SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Speech/Language Pathology
- State of Michigan requirements as a Speech and Language Pathologist
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (preferred)
- Experience providing diagnostic, consultative, and direct speech and language services to students in both individual and small group settings; establishing goals based on assessments, data, and student needs; and documenting student progress on goals and objectives
- Experience and knowledge of language, articulation development, fluency, and voice intervention/remediation strategies
- Ability to be enthusiastic, flexible, and work cooperatively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening skills)
- Experience and knowledge in the area of assistive technology and using augmentative and alternative communication devices with students
- Willingness and commitment to include equity, social justice, and inclusion in all practices
- Ability to function as speech and language consultant for special and general education teachers regarding the integration of language instruction into the curriculum
- Familiarity with Michigan Speech-Language Hearing Association and Kent Intermediate School District speech and language guidelines
- Ability to use technology proficiently with electronic IEP systems, Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and iPad apps
- Knowledge of Multi-Tiered System of Supports
- Ability to relate positively and work cooperatively with students, school staff, and parents
- Training in CPI or willingness to be trained in and utilize CPI techniques
Compensation: Per EGREA Contract Salary Schedule
Location: East Grand Rapids Public Schools
